Pear Preserves - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 qt. ripe firm pears, peeled and sliced
6 c. sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice
Preparation

Combine pears and sugar in heavy pot.
Let set overnight. Bring slowly to boiling, stirring frequently.
Boil gently until fruit becomes clear and syrup is medium thick.
Add lemon juice. Pour while hot into hot sterilized jars and seal.
