Baked Chicken With White Wine - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large whole roasting chicken (about 5 lb.)
1 large onion
4 to 5 large sweet or white potatoes
olive oil
fine herbs
salt and pepper
white wine
Preparation

Wash and dry chicken.
Salt and pepper inside and outside and sprinkle with fine herbs.
Cut potatoes (scrubbed and unpeeled) into large pieces.
Coarsely chop onion.
Place chicken, back side down, into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
Arrange potato and onion around bird and sprinkle with salt, pepper and fines herbes. Drizzle lightly with olive oil.
Bake for 40 minutes at 400\u00b0.
Turn bird over (use large wooden spoon in cavity and flip).
Pour white wine over all (about 2 cups) and bake 40 to 45 minutes, basting now and then.
