Old Fashioned Pumpkin Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 whole wheat pastry or regular pie pastry
    2 cups pumpkin or other squash
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 cup milk
    6 eggs lightly beaten
    1/2 cup finely shredded preserved ginger OR 1 tsp ground ginger
    2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp each ground cloves and salt
Preparation
    Prepare pastry and line pie tin.
    Mix all ingredients and pour into pie shell.
    Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.
    Serve warm or cool, plain or with whipped cream.
    Makes two 8-inch pies or one 9-inch pie.
