Semur Indonesian - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 Tbsp. salad oil
    1 pkg. round steak
    1 large onion, sliced
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
Preparation
    Cut round steak into 1/2 inch squares.
    Heat oil in skillet over medium heat; saute round steak.
    Then add onion, garlic powder, sugar and pepper.
    Cook, stirring until onion is golden. Add water and soy sauce. Simmer, covered one hour.
    Serve over noodles, rice or mashed potatoes.
    Serves 4.
    (Canned mushrooms can be added at end of cooking time.)
