1 1/4 c. Blue Ribbon Mission figs
1 c. milk
1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened
1/4 c. almond paste *
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 large eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sliced almonds
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Adjust oven rack to lower middle level. Grease and flour 9-inch spring-form pan; set aside.
Remove small stem from each fig; chop figs into 1/2-inch chunks.
