Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. milk with 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder or 1 c. sour milk with 1 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter, adding sugar and beat in eggs.
Sift flour, nutmeg and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Add more flour if needed to make a medium stiff dough.
Chill before rolling and fry in deep fat.
Place on paper towels after fried.
