Stuffed Figs(Teen Mihshee) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. whole dried figs
    1 c. orange juice
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. almonds/pecans
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Remove stems.
    Combine orange juice, lemon juice, peel and 3 tablespoons sugar.
    Add figs and heat to boiling point.
    Simmer until fruit is tender.
    Drain well.
    Cool.
    Insert knife in stem end of fig and stuff each fig with an almond.
    Close opening and roll figs in 1/2 cup sugar.
    Dry overnight before storing.
