Apple Pie Filling(For Canning) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. cornstarch
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
    10 c. water
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    5 1/2 to 6 lb. tart apples, cored and sliced (I pack apples before I make the syrup)
Preparation
    In large saucepan blend first four ingredients and 1 teaspoon salt.
    Stir in water.
    Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Add lemon juice.
    Pack apples into 7-quart jars, leaving 1-inch headspace.
    Fill with hot syrup leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Adjust lids.
    Process in boiling water bath 20 minutes.
    Line pan with pastry.
    Add 1 quart pie filling.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
