Cheese Filled Pastry Slices - cooking recipe
Ingredients

16 oz. cream cheese, softened
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 egg, separated
2 (8 oz.) pkg. crescent roll dough
confectioners sugar
Preparation

In medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, juice and egg yolk.
Mix until smooth.
With rolling pin, flatten 1 package of rolls, pinching to close any seams.
Cover bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish with rolled pastry.
Pour in cream cheese mixture and smooth over crust.
Roll out remaining dough, fold into fourths and lift and unfold over cheese mixture.
Beat egg white until frothy.
Spread over top crust.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Cover loosely with aluminum foil if it browns too quickly.
Remove when done and cool. Sprinkle with sugar; cut in slices or squares.
