Chicken With Spanish Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) fryer, cut into serving pieces, skinned and all visible fat removed
    2 Tbsp. acceptable vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper or to taste
    1/2 c. minced onion
    1/2 c. chopped green bell pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (28 oz.) can no-salt-added tomatoes
    1/2 c. white wine
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    2 bay leaves
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Rinse chicken and pat dry.
    Heat oil in heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
    Add chicken pieces and brown them quickly.
    Remove chicken pieces to a casserole and add black pepper.
    Set aside.
