Dinner Rolls(Basic Dough) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. boiling water
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. Crisco
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 egg, well beaten
3 c. plain flour
Preparation

Pour boiling water over sugar, salt and shortening.
Stir until all is liquid.
Add well beaten egg.
Dissolve dry yeast in the 1/2 cup of lukewarm water.
Add to mixture.
Stir in three cups plain flour.
Mix well.
Store in refrigerator at least 20 minutes before kneading and rolling into desired rolls.
You may roll dough and cut with biscuit cutter, spread with melted butter and fold over. Let rise at least 1 hour before baking.
Or you may pinch dough in balls (walnut size), place in muffin tins for Parker House style rolls.
Rolls may be frozen and baked later.
Remove from freezer at least three hours prior to baking.
This dough may be used for coffee rolls or doughnuts.
