Sour Kraut - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    solid fresh heads of cabbage
    1 tsp. salt to each jar
    boiling water
Preparation
    Chop cabbage and fill quart jar leaving 1-inch head space.
    Add 1 teaspoon salt to each jar.
    Pour boiling water over cabbage leaving 1-inch head space.
    Seal at once.
    Place jars in a dark cool place and let work for 6 weeks before using.
