Basque Cake(Gateau Basque) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1-1/2 C sifted flour
1/2 C sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 C softened butter
2 egg yolks
1 tsp baking powder
1 lemon peel, grated
Pastry cream flavored with rum or black cherry preserves (recipe follows)
1 beaten egg
Preparation

Put the flour in a large bowl.
Make a hole in middle and place sugar, salt, butter, egg yolks, baking powder and lemon peel into the hole.
Use your hands to work everything together into a dough.
