Colonial Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    4 lb. beef roast
    4 to 6 Tbsp. butter or 2 Tbsp. oil
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. rum
    1 Tbsp. horseradish
    1 bay leaf
    5 peppercorns
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1 onion, quartered
    carrots and potatoes (optional)
Preparation
    Put all together and cook in crock-pot for 5 to 6 hours on high.
