Hot Dog Relish - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. ground onions
1 medium head cabbage, ground (optional)
12 green peppers, ground
6 red peppers, ground
10 green tomatoes, ground
6 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
4 c. vinegar
Preparation

Stir onions, cabbage, peppers and tomatoes together.
Sprinkle with 1/2 cup salt and soak overnight.
Place in colander and wash off under faucet.
Drain and combine sugar, celery seed, turmeric, mustard seed and vinegar.
Heat this mixture.
Pour over vegetables.
Heat to boiling and cook 5 minutes.
May be cold packed before canning.
Process about 10 minutes.
Makes 8 pints. (Two cucumbers may be added also.)
