Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs*, one at a time, beating well after each one.
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder; add to creamed mixture.
    Spread all but 1 1/2 cups batter on greased 14 x 17-inch pan.
    Spread pie filling over batter.
    Drop the rest of the batter by spoonfuls over cherries.
