Ingredients

1 qt. blackberries
1/2 c. water
1 1/2 to 2 c. granulated sugar, divided
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 c. self-rising flour
1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation

Wash and drain berries.
In large saucepan, combine berries, water and 1/2 to 1 cup sugar.
Cook until mixture is hot and sugar is dissolved.
Remove from heat and add lemon juice.
