Broccoli Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 bunches broccoli
    1/2 c. red or green onion (chop)
    1 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. white vinegar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. shredded Colby cheese
    1/4 c. crumbled bacon bits (not Bac*Os bits)
Preparation
    Cut broccoli into bite-size florets.
    Run under hot-hot water for 30 seconds.
    Pour ice water over immediately (best to use colander to drain well).
    Add onions, cheese and bacon to broccoli and toss.
