Goodie Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves, ground
1 large egg
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. nut meats, broken
1 c. raisins, cut up
1 (1 lb.) can applesauce
1/2 c. shortening, softened

Preparation

Sift together first 8 ingredients.
Add the rest of the ingredients, beating well, at least
for 4 minutes.
Pour into greased and floured 12 x 7 1/2-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
Top with your favorite lemon frosting.
Makes 18 servings.
