Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. onion, chopped
    3 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. salt
    a few twists of freshly ground pepper
    16 oz. tomato sauce
    1 c. long grain rice
Preparation
    Brown beef and onions. Separately cook rice according to package directions. Add other ingredients and simmer while rice is cooking (25 to 30 minutes). Rice and meat mixture can be mixed together or served separately.
