Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    1/3 c. whole milk
    3 c. sifted powdered confectioners sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Place butter and brown sugar in a heavy pot and heat 2 minutes. Add 1/3 cup milk and bring to a boil.
    Cool.
    Add confectioners sugar and vanilla.
    Beat well.
    If too stiff to spread, a small amount of milk may be added.
    Ices 2 layers.
    Double recipe for 3 to 4 layers.
