Strawberry Jello Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yellow or white cake mix
    4 boxes strawberry jello
    1 lb. fresh or frozen strawberries, crushed
    16 oz. whipped topping
Preparation
    Prepare jello according to package directions, reducing water by 2 cups, to use a total of 6 cups water.
    Add strawberries and juice.
    Chill.
    Prepare cake according to package directions.
    Bake in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
    When cake is done, remove from oven and, while still hot, cut into random squares (1 to 2-inch squares). Pour slightly thickened jello over cake and gently press cake into pan and flatten top.
    Chill until firm.
    Spread whipped topping over cake and serve.
