Eggplant Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground meat
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 stems celery, chopped
    1 small green pepper, chopped
    1/2 clove garlic
    3 eggplants (small), peeled and cubed
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1 c. water
    1 1/4 c. bread (cornbread) crumbs
Preparation
    Fry ground meat in shortening until brown. Add onions, celery, green pepper, garlic and eggplant. Fry until wilted. Add salt and pepper; add water and cook tender and still juicy. Add 1 cup bread crumbs; mix well. Place in casserole dish. Sprinkle remaining bread crumbs on top. Bake at 400\u00b0 until brown, about 40 minutes.
