Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
    1/3 c. Crisco
    1 c. plus 1 Tbsp. brown sugar, firmly packed
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Melt chocolate and shortening over hot water.
    Blend in sugar and eggs; add vanilla.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together, then add to chocolate mixture.
    Mix well, but do not beat.
    Add pecans.
    Pour into a greased 8-inch square pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cool and cut into squares.
