Smothered Pork Chops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 pork chops (1-inch thick)
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 onions, sliced
    1/4 c. pancake mix
    2 Tbsp. cooking oil
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. flour
    2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper.
    Coat with pancake mix. Heat shortening in a large skillet. Brown chops well on both sides.
    Remove to shallow baking pan.
