Julia Child'S Gratin And Ham Eggs Quiche - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs
    3 Tbsp. chopped onion or chives
    6 Tbsp. whipping cream
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    1 c. grated Swiss cheese
    pinch of pepper
    Swiss cheese for topping
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Use a 12-inch baking dish or individual souffle dishes.
    Take 3/4 cup chopped onions and cook slowly in 5 tablespoons butter; don't brown.
    Add 1 1/2 cups diced cooked ham. Cook 5 minutes more.
    Blend the ham and onions into the heated mixture (include the butter they were in).
    Take 4 to 5 potatoes (peel and grate, using large holes of grater).
    Squeeze out the water, then stir potatoes into egg mixture.
    May be prepared ahead to this point.
    Heat 2 tablespoons butter in pans.
    Pour in egg-potato mix.
    Set in upper 1/3 oven.
    Bake 30 to 40 minutes until brown.
