Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix sugar, syrup, salt and water.
    Cook stirring until sugar is dissolved.
    Continue cooking without stirring until a small amount dropped into cold water forms a firm ball.
    Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
    Pour about half the syrup over egg whites. Cook remains of syrup until syrup forms a hard ball, but not brittle.
    Add slowly to first mixture.
    Beat until mixture holds its shape.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Drop by spoon onto wax paper.
