Strudel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    2 c. flour
    2 c. preserves (apricot, pineapple or strawberry)
    1 c. ice cream (vanilla or strawberry)
    2 c. walnuts, chopped
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients and chill 4 hours or overnight. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll out each piece to 14 x 7-inches. Spread 1/2 cup preserves over each roll topped with 1/2 cup walnuts. Roll up dough as if for jellyroll. Place on cookie sheet. Brush top with beaten egg and score diagonally on top with knife. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
