Ingredients

1/4 lb. sweet butter
1 c. flour
1 egg yolk
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Cream
butter
and sugar; add egg yolk and extract.
Add flour, make
balls and flatten with thumb.
Add jam or nut meat into thumbprint.
Place
on ungreased pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Do not allow cookies to brown.
