Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 eggs, well beaten
3/4 c. sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, pitted and chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Rice Krispies cereal
1 c. chopped pecans
coconut, chopped pecans or confectioners sugar for rolling cookie balls in

Beat eggs.
Add sugar and salt; set aside.
Over low heat, melt butter in a large skillet.
Add egg mixture and chopped dates.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and turn slightly brown, about 5 minutes.
Add vanilla.
Remove from heat; stir in cereal and nuts.
Cool in refrigerator until cold.
Shape into walnut size balls and roll in coconut or nuts or confectioners sugar.
Refrigerate to set cookies.
