Fried Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. shortening
Preparation
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
    Cut in shortening until the particles are fine.
    Add milk all at once.
    Stir until dough clings together.
    Heat 8-inch skillet with 1 tablespoon shortening. Turn down to simmer and spread dough evenly over skillet.
    Cover and cook for 10 minutes, then turn and cook for another 10 minutes.
    Watch so as not to burn.
    Serve hot with butter and jelly.
