Elsie'S Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. maple syrup or molasses
6 c. flour
1/2 c. warm water
1 c. quick oatmeal
3 c. shortening
1 Tbsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
Preparation

Soften yeast in 1/2 cup water.
Combine boiling water, oats, syrup, shortening and salt.
Add eggs.
Beat well.
Add yeast and flour (sticky dough).
Cover and let rise, until double.
Knead lightly.
Shape, put into pans lightly greased.
Let rise again. Bake at 350\u00b0 approximately 35 minutes.
