Whole-Wheat Scones - cooking recipe

2 c. sifted whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. lard or shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into a mixing bowl.
Cut in lard until mixture resembles coarse meal or crumbs.
Make a hollow in the center.
Beat eggs slightly; combine with milk.
Stir into the hollow in flour mixture with fork to moisten all ingredients.
Avoid overmixing.
Turn onto floured board; knead lightly 5 or 6 times.
Roll to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with 2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place on an ungreased griddle or skillet preheated over medium heat.
