Toffee Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    almonds or pecans
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. water
    pinch of cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 (11 1/2 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate pieces
Preparation
    Chop almonds or pecans and spread onto a small cooking sheet (enough to cover about a 10 x 12-inch cookie sheet).
    If using almonds, brown in oven.
