Chocolate Chip Crumb Pie - cooking recipe

6 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. chocolate chip cookie crumbs
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 1/2 c. coconut (not fresh or frozen)
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
Whipped cream or Cool Whip
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the egg whites, sugar, cookie crumbs, walnuts and coconut. Mix well. Pour into the unbaked pie crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower the temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for another 25 to 30 minutes or until filling is set and the top is crispy.
Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing. Serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip. This pie is so rich that you can probably get 10 servings rather than 8.
