Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. Quaker or Aunt Jemina corn meal
    1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. \"Crazy Salt\"
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Add onion.
    Add beaten egg and milk to dry ingredients, stirring lightly.
    Drop a teaspoon of batter for each hush puppy into hot deep fat (360\u00b0), frying only a few at a time.
    Fry until a golden brown.
    Drain on absorbent paper.
    Serve hot.
