Canadian Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 c. oatmeal
    2 c. bran
    1 c. molasses
    8 c. boiling water
    2 Tbsp. yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    white flour (almost 5 lb.)
    3 Tbsp. liquid shortening
Preparation
    Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl and let cool until lukewarm; stir the mixture.
    Mix the yeast, lukewarm water and sugar and set aside until it rises.
    Combine the 2 mixtures and add white flour.
    When you have added 4 to 5 cups, add liquid shortening.
    Continue to mix until the dough is just a little bit sticky.
    Cover with waxed paper and a towel.
    Let rise and punch down 3 times.
    Put in greased bread pans and let rise until doubled.
    Grease tops with melted butter.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 3/4 hour.
    Makes 10 loaves.
