Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 to 2 lb. round steak
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. sour cream
    2 (2 oz.) jars button mushrooms
    1 c. water
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    cooked noodles or rice
Preparation
    Cut meat in long strips, then in 1-inch pieces.
    Fry until brown.
    Add onion, garlic, salt and pepper.
    Sprinkle flour over all and brown again.
    Add mushrooms with liquid and 1 cup of water. Simmer until tender (at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours).
    Add cream of mushroom soup.
    Heat thoroughly.
    Add sour cream and heat just before serving.
    Serve over noodles or rice.
