Gert'S Chicken Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. chow mein noodles (2 if using rice; set aside 1/2 c. noodles)
    3 c. chopped, cooked chicken
    3 c. cooked rice
    3 boiled eggs, chopped
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 can mushroom soup
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 to 2 c. chicken broth
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    10 oz. box frozen peas
    1 stick oleo
    1 can water chestnuts
Preparation
    I use boned chicken breasts and cook in the stick of oleo in a skillet.
    Mix the other ingredients and add to chicken and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Remove from oven and add 1/2 cup chow mein noodles on top.
    Water chestnuts are optional but they give the casserole a nice \"crunch.\" Serves 10 to 12.
