Italian Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 green pepper
    2 stalks celery
    1 bay leaf
    1 clove garlic
    1 medium onion
    1 can mushrooms
    dab of sugar
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 tomato paste
    1 large can tomato sauce
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Brown hamburger, drain well. Cut up vegetables.
    Place in pot. Add hamburger, tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, mushrooms, bay leaf, sugar and water. Bring to boil, then simmer slowly for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until sauce is thick.
    Serve over cooked long spaghetti.
    Top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
