Key Lime Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 egg whites
1 egg white
4 egg yolks
1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk
1/2 c. lime juice
3 tsp. grated lime peel
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. sugar
Preparation

Beat egg yolks, blend with milk.
Add lime juice and peel. Beat 1 egg white until stiff, fold into milk mixture.
Pour into baked pastry shell.
Beat 3 egg whites with cream of tartar until frothy.
Gradually beat in sugar, a little at a time.
Continue beating until mixture is thick and glossy.
Fold in 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring.
Pile meringue on pie filling and swirl it over top bringing it out to pastry rim to seal and prevent shrinkage. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Chill before serving.
