Penuche - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. light brown sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk
    2/3 c. chopped nuts or almonds
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook sugar and milk over low heat; stir constantly until boiling.
    Put candy thermometer in.
    Let go to 234\u00b0.
    Remove from heat; add butter, vanilla and nuts.
    Wrap in wax paper.
    Put in refrigerator; will keep several weeks.
