Chocolate Peppermint Cookie Twists - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. margarine, softened
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. crushed peppermint candy
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix margarine, shortening, powdered sugar, egg and vanilla.
    Stir in flour, cocoa and salt.
    Knead a level tablespoonful of dough with hands until right consistency for molding.
    Roll into pencil-like strip, about 9 inches long, on a lightly floured board.
    Twist into pretzel shape on an ungreased cookie sheet.
    Repeat with remaining dough.
    Bake until set, about 9 minutes.
    Let stand 1 to 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet; cool.
    Dip tops of cookies into Chocolate Glaze (follows). Sprinkle with peppermint candy.
