Easy Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large yellow onions, sliced very thin
    4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
    1 (13 3/4 oz.) can beef broth
    1 (13 3/4 oz.) can chicken broth
    1 can water
    salt and pepper
    6 slices French bread, toasted
    6 thick slices Gruyere or Swiss cheese
Preparation
    Place onions and butter in a large saucepan. Cover and cook until onions are limp. Add broths, water and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil 2 to 3 minutes. Ladle into ovenproof bowls. Top each with a slice of bread and cheese. Broil 3 to 4 minutes until cheese is melted. Serves 6.
