Cheese Strata - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 to 18 slices Autumn Grain bread (I used white)
    1/2 stick butter or margarine
    4 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    6 eggs, beaten
    4 c. milk (I used skim)
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    paprika and parsley to garnish
Preparation
    Trim crusts and spread bread with butter.
    Cut each slice into 3 pieces.
    Alternate layers of bread and cheese (2 of each, beginning with bread) in 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
    Beat eggs and add remaining ingredients except garnish.
    Pour over bread and cheese; sprinkle with garnish and cover and refrigerate at least 24 hours and up to 3 days.
    Remove from refrigerator at least one hour before baking.
    Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Leftovers freeze well.
