No Can Cucumber Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 lb. cucumbers
    1 small box alum
    1 gal. apple cider vinegar
    1 box pickling spices
    10 lb. sugar
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and put in cold water to cover, with alum. Leave overnight.
