La Cookie Elegante - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
c. enriched self-rising flour*
c. sliced almonds (optional)
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Stir in vanilla.
Gradually add flour; mix well.
Pat or spread dough evenly over bottom of ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch pan.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool.
Spread crust with Cream Cheese Topping.
If desired, sprinkle top with almonds.
Continue to bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool completely before cutting into diamonds.
Makes about 4 dozen.
