Chile Bean Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (27 oz.) can S&W 50% less salt kidney beans
    1 (20 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/2 lb. lean hamburger (optional)
    2 carrots
    1 c. fresh or frozen green beans
    2 Tbsp. minced dried onion
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cumin (or to taste)
    1 tsp. chili powder (or to taste)
Preparation
    Steam carrots (peeled and sliced) and green beans over a small amount of water until tender; reserve water.
    In a large skillet, brown hamburger; drain fat.
    Add remaining ingredients and reserved water; simmer, uncovered, about 20 minutes until flavors have blended and soup has thickened.
