16 Bean Soup(Serves 8 To 10) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. each mixed beans (navy, kidney, lima, split pea and black-eyed peas)
    1 tsp. salt
    2 qt. water
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 smoked ham hocks *
    1 can tomatoes
    juice of 1 lemon *
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Rinse beans and add salt.
    Add water and cover.
    Soak 3 hours or overnight.
    Drain.
    Put beans in large pan.
    Add water, onion, garlic, ham hocks, tomatoes and juice of lemon.
