Manhattan Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices bacon, cut fine
    1 1/2 c. diced carrots
    1 c. sliced onion
    1 c. diced celery
    2 c. potatoes
    1/2 c. cabbage, cut up
    2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans Doxsee minced clams
    1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, crushed
    2 1/2 qt. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. thyme
Preparation
    Cook bacon in large saucepan until crisp.
    Add onions, carrots, celery and cabbage; saute 10 minutes.
    Add tomatoes, clam juice, tomato soup, salt, pepper, potatoes and water.
    Cook until potatoes are tender.
    Add clams and thyme.
    Cook 10 minutes longer.
